^Pete, as always, your knowledge of all things AT40 is quite impressive. I feel like I've learned a decent amount, but it still pales in comparison. Thanks again for sharing those little tidbits with us!

Optional extras from 36 years ago:
--Lotta Love-Nicolette Larson --My Best Friend's Girl-Cars --Fire-Pointer Sisters
Oddball/Tiebreaker: Wavelength-Van Morrison (a song that I enjoyed back then that I had hoped would be a much bigger hit and was on its last week on the Hot 100)

The movie "Scarecrow" will be shown on Turner Classic Movies on Friday night/Saturday morning, starting at midnight Eastern time. Released to theatres in 1973, a faux AT40 program is briefly heard in it, in a scene that takes place in Detroit. Ironically, AT40 wasn't heard in Detroit after 1971 until its return in 1978. Thanks for the tip, Pete! A movie I've always wanted to see, and it doesn't show up on cable very often. (I remember Casey promoting it at the time.) Part of TCM's month-long "road movies" festival.

I may be getting it confused with "Scarecrow", but is there a similar 'faux AT40 program' heard briefly in the film "The Last Detail" with Jack Nicholson and Randy Quaid? I could swear I remember hearing AT40 playing in the background at one point in the movie. But it's been years since I've seen it, so I may just be getting the two movies confused. They both came out around the same time, and both are 'road movies' in one way or another.

In the '80s thread, i mentioned that I wanted a lot of 1987 in 2015. I also want a lot of 1975 because it will have been 40 years ago. Here is my wishlist for 1975 in 2015:
Jan. 11 (one of my favorite days of the year because it was so warm that day0 Feb. 15 (Winter weather was easing up0 March 22 (seven debut songs) April 12 (the date of my first personal song chart) May 10, 17, or 24 (just did May 3 six or 18 months ago) June 28 9date of my first major league baseball game0 July 19 or 26 Aug. 23 (seven debuts) Sept. 20 (the day I was thinking about a girl I had a crush on at the time) Oct. 11 (slim pickings for this month--a 1950s special on 10-4, a guest host on 10-11; 10-18 was just done last year, and a bad day for me persoanlly on the 25th. I'll hope for Oct. 18 because it was the b-day of my favorite teacher at the time) Nov. 8 (a nice warm day in the Northeast) or Nov. 22 (seven debut songs) Dec. 20 (never tuned in in 1975 because I assumed that it was too close to Christmas for a regular countdown)

Here's some 1976 shows that I want in 2016--when '76 will have been 40 years ago-- (The year 2015 will throw a monkey wrench in some of these choicesm, but here goes!):
Jan. 31 Feb. 28 (heard on Leap Day, a Sunday that year0 March 20 April 17 (Easter weekend in '76) May 15 (my favorite day that month because I was visiting relatives) June 19 (graduation weekend from the ball & chain known as 8th grade) July 17 (three debut songs in the 20s0 Aug. 14 (6 debut songs) Sept. 25 Oct. 30 (I believe that this was broadcast circa 2011, so it could be up for a repeat) Nov. 13 Dec. 11
