70's DECEMBER 18TH 1976 NEW 80's DECEMBER 17TH 1983 NEW I don't think the 1976 show will happen. I don't see why not; 12/18/76 has never been played, and 1976 hasn't been done since October. However, it's been longer since Premiere aired either 1970 or 1979, so one of those may have a better chance. (And 1971, 1973, and 1978 have each been heard twice since any of those years was last played.)

I'm aware of all that, but I have my own reasons, plus 1970 (12/19) and maybe 1979 are indeed better more than likely choices in this situation here.

^I'm thinking that 1979 will be the year-end special. Yes, they could go with 12/15/79 or 12/22/79 the weekend of December 20-21, but '79 is the one year that has yet to be aired as a year-ender since the series started.
Agree with mkarns--I think 12/18/76 has very good odds of getting played a week from this weekend. There have been some strange choices in the 70's series as of late, so you never know, but that's the show I would guess we will hear next week. The wild card may be 1970, but they've already aired two shows from 1970 this year (which is about par for the course lately), and it would mean a fourth straight week of early 70's. Plus I have a real hard time believing that they would air 1970 and '71 in back to back weeks.

The Top 80 of 1972 is another one that has yet to be aired since this series started!

The very first "AT40" countdown has been aired twice by Premiere, once in 2007 & again in 2010-The only difference between the Premiere show & the original Watermark presentation is Bill Cosby's 1967 novelty hit "Little Old Man" which Premiere chose to delete. I'm guessing if the first show is re-aired this year that Cosby's song will be deleted again.

I'd hope not. If we start chopping up AT40s due to mere allegations (no matter how overwhelming they may be) against Cosby, we may as well start chopping out anything Phil Spector had his name attached to. A bad precedent to start.
