Who is running the WQSR computer? The number 2 song was cut into for the crap Black Eyed Peas. The answer to that question ( as well as the computers for 90% of the stations in the country ) is no one is running it. The days of board-op's and live air talent are all but gone.

You are 100% correct.

WQSR ran perfectly this week online. No cut-ins to or cutoffs of the countdown songs or optional extras, and they even played the entire closing theme.
(BTW, while I can pick up WQSR where I live without having to listen online, I was also trying to watch TV and do stuff on the computer at the same time, and the radio that picks the station up clearly was in another room.)

Still no JACK show yet - doesn't look good, never been this late before.

Yeah, this is very weird. Giving them until 8:20 before I close the stream.

Here's one of three possibilities:a).WQSR didn't receive a copy of this week's show b).They've opted to air the three-hour version from 9 PM-12 midnight on Sundays or c).They've decided to drop the show. It's on now. Evidently it was just another of their occasional goofs, though this is the first such in a long time to be this major (not just online extras running over, for instance). Hopefully it runs past midnight this week. How does the three hour 80s version work? Do stations that run it simply jump in at hour 2 of the original broadcast, as Premiere does with the 4-hour 70s shows?

If you notice, the first part of the intro for hour 2 is the same as hour 1. "The Premiere Radio network proudly presents Casey Kasems American Top 40: The 80s."

I am deducing from these last couple posts that Premiere is giving stations the options to air all 4 hours or just 3 hours. And if so, I am wondering why they can do this so easily with the 80s series and yet not offer this same option for the 70s series when it comes to 4 hour shows.

They've pretty much always offered stations the 3 or 4 hour option for the 80s. They don't with the 70s show because the overwhelming majority of the run was 3 hours. It's a lot easier to tell stations you have a 4 hour show you can opt to run for 3 hours than to tell a station you have a 3 hour show that may occasionally and randomly be 4. Especially in the age of automated downloading that's a recipe for disaster.

It's not a matter of 3 or 4 hour show - Jack was late getting back from a "Colts/Raiders game", and the rest - is history.

If I could, I'd "like" that comment.

I was wondering if Jack FM dropped the show. Its better late than never. So far, no cut offs from the segments tonight. 'Knock on Wood.'
