I don't know if I would call them "monumental failures". All it is is the online filler content that airs on the stream when they are airing the local commercials is not timed out right to segue back into AT40. Remember - this issue is not occuring on the over-the-air brodcast, because these filler songs are nothing more than added content when the local ad inventory can't be cleared for streaming. It's the same reason why WMMX sometimes misses the first segment on their stream. And it's not even occuring every segment, or even every hour. My guess is something in the automation is simply not timed out right.
Our best bet would be to contact the WQSR program director (if they even have one, most Clear Channel markets now have one or two PD's that spread their duties throughout the whole cluster) According to the website, the PD is James Howard, and his email is jameshoward@clearchannel.com Shoot him a quick, friendly email, explaining how you enjoy listening to the show, that you listen on WQSR even though you don't live in the Baltimore area because of the sound quality/airtime, but that recently this has been occuring I'd bet money they have no idea this error is occuring, and will find a fix if possible.

And the "fail to play" was because of their 4th of July Special Top 500 countdown. It sucks they chose not to air the show, but they have that right as long as they clear the commercials. They even acknowledged on their Facebook page (granted it was after the fact) they would be pre-empting Casey for the week

You put it well, Brett. I have several "backups" to repair their "botches", but this has been very unusual for WQSR. A good friend pointed out to me that this is the third week that they botched song #2 specifically.... I hope it is not a thorn thrown out at "tapers".

WQSR "Jack" is notoriously unreliable. I use them but only after another complete recording from another source. Their sound quality is quite good but they suffer from frequent dropouts, glitches, and "bulldozing" their standard play material over AT40 when coming back from commercial. Too bad.

Honestly I haven't bothered to listen to WQSR since maybe the end of last year. That was my main option when I used to visit my grandmother every weekend (she turns 83 this week and is currently in a residential home because she needs around-the-clock care and can no longer live on her own). Since, I have managed to listen to "AT40: The '80s" earlier. Also, the True Oldies Channel (locally on WJQB 106.3 FM) began "Cruising America" on May 22nd so I have been listening to that program every week.

Yeah, it seems to me that somebody at the station may have made some changes to their scheduling program and now the filler songs are "clipping" that last segment of AT40 rather than the AT40 segment clipping the filler songs. I don't know a ton about the software used for scheduling, but my guess is that a few clicks of the mouse would correct the problem if the right person were to be contacted. Fortunately, it is due to filler songs and not extra ads that are being "squeezed in" and end up stepping on the AT40 segments, as is the case with other stations. That irks the you know what outta me.
analog--you must have had some bad luck with some of the WQSR airings. While I know they aren't always perfect, they so often do the shows better than most other stations. I know a few shows where there have been a number of 1- to 2- second dropouts throughout (the 5/15/82 and 6/2/84 shows come to mind), but those times have been few and far between.

Happened again, 4th or 5th week now - botched song #2, overlayed by filler song. How about drop the filler? It's a shame, WQSR has nice, bright iheart stream. There is not a stream with better quality audio, I wish someone could fix this!!

Botched the second extra again, same as last week. Bummer, as it was a good song. Thank God that my buddy Wahoo has 7 back-up copies!

Again tonight. This time, crap filler song laid over #36, then laid filler over first extra. Then lay filler over #2 again.
Guess I will be recording pieces off Monday night show again!

I think WQSR may apply for WKLR call letters - since Helen Keller has taken over Sunday nights.

I'm waiting for the ultimate failure: WQSR use Iron Butterfly's "In A Gadda Da Vidda" (the long version) so it will cut out 4-5 songs.

That's the first time we've had four cut in's on WQSR. One I can live with, especially if it's an optional extra. But four? Bad show tonight Jack, bad show.
