Thought we would get rid of 2 of these in one week.
Song removed was "MacArthur Park".

The only week that was possible for "Escape" is being played next. BTW, this week was another example of them missing by one week another such song. "Fly Robin Fly" has not been played while at #1 but the shows before and after it was there were played the last 2 years. And the 80s series also missed by one week with "Say You Say Me" hitting the top a week after this week's show.

Knocked another one off of this list this week and if my 80s prediction is correct, another one will fall next week.
Song removed was "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy".

Yet another of these list threads to bump up because Lean on Me was just taken off this list. Could Bad Girls be next? When you mentioned "Lean On Me", are you referring to Bill Withers' version or Club Nouveau's?

With this week's show, "Careless Whisper" is removed from this list. On a related note, Wham had been the only artist with 3 multiple week #1s that had not had any played on a regular show when they were at #1. That leaves 2 artists who each have 3 one week #1s in the 1970-88 period who have not had any shows played while they were at #1...the Rolling Stones and Helen Reddy. One of Helen's was at #1 during a year end special however.

The song with the most weeks at #1 of those that were on this list was just removed. (My Sharona)

Since I gave that clue about "Hot Stuff", I have just removed that song from this list since I doubt Premiere will pull a fast one like they did this week and switch shows for that week. BTW, that leaves 6 such songs on this list and assuming no show changes, only 2 more will be removed from the list the rest of the year. But that is a big assumption so there is a decent chance it will be more than 2 songs that are removed when all is said and done for 2013.

With this week's 70s show, the oldest song on this list has been removed. Of course, some of us know the shows that are scheduled to be played the rest of the year. So I would be remiss if I did not mention that ONE more song from this list will be removed in 2013. That leaves 4 for 2014 (and beyond?)

And the one song alluded to in my previous post has just been removed since by the end of the day, the show to be played will be revealed. This means that with the exception of "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" and "American Woman", every song that spent at least 3 weeks at #1 in the 70s has been featured at #1 on a Premiere broadcasted show. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" counts because it topped the top 80 of 1970.

Had to dig this one up from page 18. Been awhile since one of these songs was removed from the list as "Alone" just was. It was the only one of the 4 songs remaining on the list that only had one show attached to it. 2 of the 3 left are from late in a year. The other will definitely stay on this list until next year.

Well, ladies and gentleman, "Say You Say Me" was just removed from this list, leaving only one song that stayed at #1 for at least 3 weeks that has never been featured on a show when it was #1. That's "Funky Town".
