Wow, there's a couple good #1's there. MacArthur Park, Fly Robin Fly, Sir Duke & Alone are faves of mine. Couldn't care less about the 2 Wham songs or Pina Colada!

12/26/87 was played by Premiere in December 2008. Yep, you are right. I was going to blame it on the link in the second post of the List of 80s shows thread. But upon looking at it again, I see that show listed. My bad. That leaves one George Michael song listed and it could get removed in the next couple weeks. Donna Summer is really shut out. Her only less than 3 week #1 song...No More Tears...has not been played at #1 either. 4 #1 songs not played but that shutout should end any week now however.

FYI, there is a mistake on the list of 80s shows link in the second post on that thread. It lists the 8/29/87 show as having been played on 9/18/10. But it was the 9/19/87 show that was played then.

Prophesy fulfilled and original post updated. Song removed was "One More Try".

Yet another of these list threads to bump up because Lean on Me was just taken off this list. Could Bad Girls be next?
Song removed was "Lean On Me" by Bill Withers.

Really hope before this month is out "Alone" makes it. I just love Nancy in that video.

I think "My Sharona" will be next, as with 7/14/79 coming this weekend it seems like September may be right to next feature that year. (Last year SXM, rotating all ten years, played both 7/14 and 9/15/79.) However, it can't be 9/8/79, one of those listed above, as Gordon Elliott hosted that week. For the 80s, I think we should get an October 1982 show with "Jack and Diane" at #1 (and perhaps also one from August 1982, a month which has been totally overlooked for the previous four years.)

Not sure mkarns will be correct about My Sharona (he was correct about August 1982) because a strange thing has happened the last 2 weeks...this and next week. Premiere has played the show BEFORE a big #1 hits the top.
But with this show, my thought before this year began is coming true...that 1979 would be played the most. I thought that Premiere would want to make up for not playing it in the past and sure enough, with next week's show, 1979 has been played 5 times, the same as 1975.

Premiere has played the show BEFORE a big #1 hits the top. Yeah, I didn't think they would go back to 1979 so soon. 8/18 is only five weeks after 7/21, so if they returned to that year at that rate there would be a "My Sharona"-topped chart (9/22/79), but most likely not this year (remember, 9/8 and 9/29 were guest hosted; according to the 9/29/79 cue sheet, Casey literally lost his voice that week to the L.A. smog). If they'd held out on 1974 for one more week, then "You're Having My Baby" could be crossed off, but again probably not this year. With 1982 up this week, October seems like a good time to revisit that year, with "Jack and Diane" on top.

The LA smog must really be bad that time of the year because the same thing happened to him exactly a year later and then a week later in the year in 1982 which is why one of Jack and Diane's weeks at #1 is guest hosted.

Another one bites the dust from this list and that song was never on it....lol.....my prediction for the next one to go is MacArthur Park. Another reason I am glad they bypassed playing the 10/7/78 show.
Yeah this 10/9/82 show is the one after Casey had another bought with the LA smog. We'll see if he mentions it at the top of the show.
Song removed was "Jack and Diane".
