There have been a few albums other than Thriller that have topped the dance chart. That usually meant all the songs were receiving play in the dance clubs. But since February 1991, only one song can occupy a position on the dance chart.

Interesting introduction to the first of this week´s extras:
"Before we hear the 30 biggest hits on the Hot 100 from 3/30/85 let´s see what was topping Billboard´s other charts: At #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart: "One more night" by Phil Collins. At #1 on the Rock chart: "All she wants to do is dance" by Don Henley. And at #1 on the 12´´-singles chart this instrumental by Harold Faltermeyer: Axel F."

^Makes you wonder why Casey never gave the number one song on the rock chart back in the 80s. Seemed like an obvious choice when listing other #1s. I don’t think he started doing that until 2001. (“Alternative Rock” always referred to the Alternative chart, which he started acknowledging in the mid 90s).

And which he couldn't have mentioned on the AT40s being replayed even if he'd wanted to, as that chart in Billboard didn't exist until September 1988, several weeks after Shadoe took over AT40. I don't recall Casey mentioning anything other than the ones we hear now (album, country, soul/black singles/R&B, dance/disco), though he of course started counting down the (Radio & Records) adult contemporary charts himself in the 90s. This isn't the first time that we've had Larry Morgan introduce an optional extra by listing #1's on other charts that Casey didn't mention originally. This may be a regular thing for when he has to record new intros for the OE's.

All I can remember is that Casey (and the guest-hosts) usually mentioned only the #1 of the album-, the #1 of the country- and the #1 of the soul-chart. Sometimes he (they) mentioned the #1 of the dance and disco-chart. And very, very rarely the #1 of the jazz-chart.
