Here is an interesting data. I emailed Stereorey FM, in the city of Misiones, Argentina (http://audiolivepro.net/cast/tunein.php/cadenac7034/playlist.asx), i asked why the are no longer running AT40 the 80s and received this answer: because they have no received the original audios lately. That was knew for me, because the program is downloaded from a ftp site via internet, then i emailed again and asked how come they have no received the original audios lately, haven't they downloaded the files? Then, i received this answer today: We receive all the shows in CDs or DVDs, many times we have had problems with our computers, so we prefer the old ways.
There You have it, a station that does not download AT40 from the ftp site, instead they receive the show via postal mail, a complete 80s station!
By the way, they say they are running the show Saturdays at 1:00 PM local time, that is GMT-3, 12:00 PM ET.

is there a site at they go to or are they emailed to each station. I ask because I'd love to be able to download them just for my own personal listening pleasure... Both AT40 and classic AT40 are mp3 downloads via FTP through Premiere. That's pretty much standard procedure for any syndicated show these days. Usually 2 versions of each show, one for US with the national spots and one without for the international edition. all stations have their own user/passwords for access. Like they did for program discs, the shows are for broadcast only. Unfortunately with mp3's, it's too easy to delete them, whereas with physical media, it still exists after airing and often ends up in collector circles.

They really need to make this process fool proof. It can't be that hard. WWIS says they couldn't download the 1980 show due it technical issues at the origination end.

The process is all but fool proof. Doesn’t mean technical difficulties still can’t happen

Guess we'll know early tomorrow morning whether WWIS' problem with the '80 show is a 'one off' or will affect every '80s affiliate.
