Speaking of jingles, this week's shows on the app include new commercials in which Rick plugs Zips Car Wash. Hearing that repeatedly led me to do as he says and look their website up, only to find there are none anywhere near me. Oh well....

Hearing that repeatedly led me to do as he says and look their website up, only to find there are none anywhere near me. Oh well.... Since the app is free to download and no commercials, I was wondering how Rick Dees was funding this. This is the answer. Advertisements before the segments. Expect more in the shows to come. I’ll happily accept them too as long as the app remains free to use.

Me too. It’s just a minor inconvenience.

At least the car wash ads are short. I remember in the mid-2000s when his show streamed online, there was a time frame where there were several lengthy ads between each segment that you could not skip over.

KZOY is playing 05/10/86 this morning. This show was played last year and this is the 9th time it has aired on retro-Dees. The sure shot is "Who's Johnny" by El DeBarge.

Unless if it says wrong, please correct me. I didn't even listen though

The 90s show is from 1999. I'd guess May 8, 1999. SS is "Promises"; the Cranberries. The 00s show is (I think) from 2002. May 11, 2002? SS is "I've Got You"; Marc Anthony.

Yep it is May 8, 1999. It's also last aired last year too! May 11, 2002 is correct though, last aired 2 years ago
Why of so many 1999 shows this year?

Oh wonderful: all reruns, and of shows from years we just heard in the last month. At least we don't have any other countdowns from the same years this week; a few weeks ago we had the same 1986 week from Rick, Casey, and the MTV VJ's on Sirius XM.

I don't know, but I bet Rick was happy he didn't follow through on his suggestion "Let's go!" and do the countdown from Woodstock 99, which he plugged in the show's final outro.

I know what you mean. Lately we seem to be flipping back and forth between 1999 and 1996 with a 1992 show being thrown in here and there.

Knock on wood, but I think there’s a strong chance we get the 5/27/89 show for Memorial Day weekend. It was last played 2 years ago and this show has been airing a lot of shows from 2 years ago this year.

Sorry but I don't think we'll ever get 1989 this year. The last 1989 was played was Jun 2018.
Remember last March we requested for 1989, and it turned out it didn't air 1989 at all
