I'm sure some people will be complaining about another 1980 drought, but I won't be one of them. So long as this week's chart is from 9/17, it will be new to this show and will slightly close the gap of never-played charts from 8/13/88 - 9/17/88. Interestingly, the last "new" chart from 1988 was this time last year when we got 10/8 for the first time.

Next week it'll be all about 1980.
Does anyone know when's the next possible date that there could be a "new" chart? I personally hope they wait until the second weekend of October to do 1986 so we can hear both Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek.

Next week it'll be all about 1980. Does anyone know when's the next possible date that there could be a "new" chart? Based on current rotation maybe in mid-October if they do 1986 or 1982. I think 1984 is due for one of the first two weeks in October, and the likely charts from them (10/6 or 10/13/84) have been done before. At least they get 1988 out of the way this week instead of waiting until October; 10/1 and 10/8/88 would both be repeats, and maybe 10/15 as well. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll hold out on 1989 until November, instead of redoing an October 1989 chart they've done several times. As for next week, it's likely 9/27/80, which the VJs did two years ago--but Casey Kasem was out sick that week so at least we'll never get it from Premiere.

I would post what I think which charts will be used for a certain month but both times I got them mostly wrong, but here is goes for October:
10/4/19 - 10/6/84 10/11/19 - 10/11/86 10/18/19 - 10/16/82 10/25/19 - 10/24/81 (just to avoid them using 10/28/89 for the third time in four years, but we all know what happen in August)

I'm torn about how I want to see the next two months line up. If the next 10 weeks feature the years in the exact same order as we just got, we will hear new shows from 1982 and 1986 in October and new shows from 1983 and 1988 in November, but we'll get tired reruns of 1987 and 1989 as well. I don't think there's any way to shake up the order to make us happy every week. November 1988 has never been played at all, though, so I'm hoping for that at least.

Alan mentioned something about Kenny Loggins bookending his movie music career with Nobody's Fool from Caddyshack 2 after starting it with I'm Alright from the first one. Well guess which song will be on this weekend's show?

I guessed a chart date correct for once!
And they played "Throwing It All Away" after the show ended. If my guess for the next week is right, we'll be hearing that one a lot too.

Seems like they're bringing back those artist intros. A couple weeks ago there was Phil Collins, and there's Billy Idol this week.

Speaking of Genesis, they are featured in today's Fantasy Top 20 for the chart date of October 4, 1986. Why hasn't Doofus67 posted the Fantasy Top 20 for the chart date of October 4th for the years 1975, 1980 and 1986?

Re-listening to the 1980 countdown. No Nina, Magic by Olivia Newton John's "Magic" was not number 3 for the year. It was number 8. Mark, Late in the Evening was not the only single Paul Simon had from the One Trick Pony soundtrack. The title song also hit, #40 for two weeks.

Actually "Magic" is #3 for the year on Billboard's chart. AT40 used a different year-end chart that year.

Doofus67 hasn't posted the Fantasy Top 20 for the chart date of October 11th for the years 1975, 1980 and 1986. He had a busy day today.
