Do they always air the show Tuesday night also? Or did the airing this week happen because it was a holiday week?

Next week it'll be all about 1983! It should be the 7/9 chart date.

Next week it'll be all about 1983! It should be the 7/9 chart date. Let's hope so. 7/16 was used last year, so that would make three 2018 repeats in a row. 7/9 would be new to the VJs.

It's probably just me, but I found it pretty funny that Alan said "throwing shade" in this week's show and last week's. For last week it was before "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" and this week it was before "Let My Love Open the Door".

I noticed that the next two years likely to come up in the rotation are 1986 and 1988. If they are indeed the next two years chosen, we will have five consecutive weeks where they feature the same years as 2018. Nice variety, guys...

Unless they switch the years. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone pointed that out on FB.

Well it may be possible that 1988 they could use 7/23 given that it is closer (like 1983 is), but I wonder if they used that chart before...

Mark just announced that 1988 is next week before playing #1 like he did last time he intro'd the #1 song. He said the 19th but I'm assuming it's the 16th.

1988 is a good choice for several reasons. First, it should be two weeks removed from last year's selection. And second, the alternate choice of 1986 would have been both a repeat from last year and a copy of Premiere's AT40.

And very well likely a duplicate of Premiere, but I don't think they have used 7/28/84 before at all, so this should be new to them.

I was kind of expecting 1986 to be up for next week because it's been three months since that year was featured, but that might be up for the first week of August.

It's definitely due, but I'm actually glad for the delay since it gives us a "new" 1984 show, while the first weeks of August 1986 have never been featured.

Looks like we got our wish, because next week it's all about 1986!
