Has 4/11/81 been done yet? No, it's another new one. This is going to be a really good show tonight, with Emmylou Harris, A Taste of Honey and more! Sorry, I meant John Lennon, Kim Carnes and more!

What's the chances we'll finally get 1980 next week? I'm hoping it'll be that and then 1985 for the last week of the month.

Next week it'll be all about 1985, three months later. So that means 1980 will definitely more than likely be next week. It would be the same as last year, but at least we would have it. At this point I don't care. If they really are avoiding "Another Brick in the Wall" like someone on here mentioned, we'll have to wait another good month and a half.

I recently bought a new car, and it came with a free 3-month subscription to Sirius/XM radio. I listened to some of the 4/11/81 countdown yesterday. Alan Hunter sounds just like he did back in the day! Mark Goodman still sounds very good... a slightly deeper voice but you know it's him and he sounds radio-friendly. Nina Blackwood... good gravy Marie, what is she still doing on radio?!?! I know she is 63 years old but she sounds like she's 93. I can't listen to her. In radio, it's all about the voice. If you sound great, I'll listen to you. But if you don't have a good voice, I'll change the channel. She sounds as if she has smoked forty million cigarettes. I don't care that she was an original MTV VJ (I preferred watching Martha Quinn back in the day )... as soon as she talks, it's off to 70s on 7, 1st Wave, The Groove or another channel for me. Sorry, Nina!

While we’re discussing the original VJ’s, iHeart 80s (KOSF San Francisco) has Martha Quinn. She turns 60 next month, but neither looks nor sounds it.

Sorry, Nina! Awww, Nina's not THAT bad. Yeah, her voice is quite raspy, but, IMHO, the raspiness makes her voice delightfully unique. Otherwise, she still conveys a warm, friendly demeaner in her delivery.

Am I mistaken or did Nina refer to REO as REM? Perhaps it's just her cigarette tarnished voice.

Other noteworthy VJs: “Downtown” Julie Brown is on 90s on 9. Sirius XM really needs to try to sign up MTV alum Adam Curry maybe to be the 4th VJ on the 80s on 8 since Martha has her own thing now. That would be cool to hear Adam Curry again introducing songs.

Speaking of 90s on 9, they're doing April 1994 this weekend, and R. Kelly was at #1 around that time. Wonder how they'll handle that considering they don't play him on there anymore.

Next week it'll be all about 1986. The 1980 drought continues.

Not to mention it was done three years ago. Do both Premiere and SiriusXM have some vendetta against 1980 now?

I'm surprised they didn't edit out that f-bomb on "The Bird".
