Wow. Sirius cut out Casey's entire recap of last week's Top 3 in the intro to the Dec 22, 1979 show.

^That was always my least favorite feature of the show. Seemed redundant to play the same songs more than once in the same show.

One of the things I found funny about this show is that Casey says that “I Wanna Be Your Lover” was “written by Roger Nelson, produced by Roger Nelson and sung by Roger Nelson who calls himself Prince” How long until they realized that his name was Prince Rogers Nelson. I think they did something similar when Madonna first came out, assumed Madonna was a stage name, not her actual first name.

When "Do It Again" and "Reeling In the Years" were in the 40, Casey would refer to Steely Dan as "he." Of course, that was at the time when "his" identity was kept under wraps.

Of course, very few people outside of Minneapolis really knew much of anything about Prince at the time. Guessing the AT40 staff erred in their notes they provided to Casey for the intro of “I Wanna Be Your Lover”, thereby setting Casey up to give flawed information.

I recall in my second year working in radio, I did a 1980 year end countdown and identified 'Prince' as a group . Good thing only a few thousand people heard that at the small radio station I was working at on the Alabama/Georgia border.

Wow. Sirius cut out Casey's entire recap of last week's Top 3 in the intro to the Dec 22, 1979 show. But it seems that everything else in the original countdown was left in, including some stories that included clips of pre-1970s recordings. Sound quality wasn't great though; maybe Sirius XM was playing an original vinyl copy instead of a remaster? The following week they did the first half of the top 100 of 1974, with that year's top 50 to follow next week.

Ahh, the show ended with the dreaded AT40 staff 'prediction'; never really cared for this feature.
One more thing, I was surprised that the staff didn't have Casey re-cap some of the chart movements on some of the songs, especially in the case of hits that reached their peak during the two weeks that they ran the Top 80 of 1972.
