Now lets go back to this week in 1975 - Brian May. July 26, 1975 1975 again? SXM just gave us that year last month, as did Premiere last week and a couple of weeks from now (with what is for them an unplayed show). Well, if one or more of these nights one likes jive talkin' and doing the Hustle, this is your lucky summer.... I was hoping for 1979, which SXM hasn't done in three months (1975 has been played three times by them since), or maybe 1972 or 1976 which they haven't played in two months.

Yeah SXM seems to be stuck in the first half of the decade lately. I was hoping for ‘78 or ‘79 but no.

Let’s go back to this week in 1972 - Randy Bachman. August 19,1972 Would have loved to hear this show It was a good show. I especially liked when Casey answered the question about the song that spent the most weeks on the chart without breaking the Top 40. It was a Bing Crosby song (Around the World In 80 Days)--which Joel Whitburn's books now list as making the Top 40; spending one week on the Best Seller chart at #25--but only making it to #54 on the Top 100 in 1957.

^^It’s notable that SXM left the question in; they often delete them. But not always; a few weeks ago they played a complete four hour 1979 show with nothing edited (except they didn’t play out the full closing theme.)
8/19/72 is one of the now rather small number of shows never played by Premiere. We might have gotten it last week if they hadn’t opted for another first-timer, that being 8/21/71.

Now let’s go back to this week in 1975 - Gloria Gaynor. September 6, 1975 Which would have been the day I was born if I weren't so lazy, dawdling for thirteen more days. My habit of running behind schedule on things goes right back to the very start.

In 1975, when "Love Will Keep Us Together" reached #1 on June 21, "Rhinestone Cowboy" was in its first week on the Top 40. When "Rhinestone Cowboy" reached #1 on September 6, "Love Will Keep Us Together" was in its last week on the Top 40.
