It's high time we finally get a February 1984 show, after 5 years under the radar! This means 2 down, 2 more to go! Anyways, my predictions for optional extras: "Footloose" - Kenny Loggins "New Song" - Howard Jones "Automatic" - Pointer Sisters "Hold Me Now" - Thompson Twins

Feb. 6, 1988 (even though it's supposedly a repeat) can still fly next week (weekend of Feb. 9-10). Brian

I'd say, if 1988 was to air on February 9, it will likely be February 13, 1988 - the same weekend that Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" and "Rocket 2 U" by The Jets debuted on AT40.
It's strongly doubtful that they're going to replay an episode that aired last year, knowing the trends. Many repeats have been aired by Premiere in 2008 or 2009, if I recall.

February 6, 1988 was aired just last year. Everyone else would be b!tching and moaning if a repeat that soon aired.

With 1988 once again getting the shaft, I'm going to go with these extras for the year that does get respect: * "Footloose" -- Kenny Loggins. * "Let's Stay Together" -- Tina Turner. (I believe this was her comeback hit.) * "The Language of Love" -- Dan Fogelberg. (No. 13, the lost chesnut of the week.) * "Somebody's Watching Me" -- Rockwell. (Just too obvious.) No country this week. Besides, the one that was in the Hot 100 (but below the top 40 -- it was Dolly Parton's cover of " Save the Last Dance for Me") had peaked, and Willie Nelson and Julio Iglaseas' " To All the Girls I've Loved Before" was still a month off. Brian Question...why would they have aired 1988 this week? If they did, by Premiere's typical selection standards it would have to have been 2/6/88, which was played last year... I would guess that we get an '88 show in the next couple weeks.

Maybe they can be extras? For that matter, 1970-1971 and 1971-1972 have been on dry spells as of late, although at least there, "I Think I Love You" and "Family Affair" at least got played. We've missed out on "Tears of a Clown" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles (from the 1970-1971 cycle). Brian

I got one question regarding April 1988... did Premiere air the 4/2/1988 episode yet? I am asking this because there was a tribute to Andy Gibb, who died a few weeks beforehand.
Also, I noticed that the variety of new episodes is dwindling now, and it makes me wonder, with February 4, 1984 airing this coming weekend, and 2 more shows from that month in 1984 waiting to be aired, and also 2 more episodes from each of May 1984, August 1984 and July 1987, it makes me wonder, does anybody know if the "new" Premiere airings will cease in the spring of 2015 or something?

With an '88 show likely to come up later in February, then five weeks of March to get through afterwards, plus all other April '88 shows having already aired (save 4/16, hosted by Keri Tombazian), I wonder if 4/2 isn't a good possibility this year.

I record the shows via dar.fm. One segment via WQSR didn't seem to record. Does anyone have the segment from #17 Jamie by Ray Parker Jr. to #15 Cool it Now by New Edition from 1/19/85? Thanks in advanced.

1988 was a sensational year for top 40 radio, especially if you liked rock songs, so I hope we can get as many as possible over the next six months.
Heck, one every six or seven weeks would be wonderful, but that's definitely a longshot.
I'm sure several of you noticed that out of all of the songs in this weeks top 8, 'Physical' was the only song among them that I never hear on the radio out here in LA; I couldn't tell you the last time KRTH played it.
