[/li][li]WKEE Huntingdon, WV - Still an affiliate later on, on 12/4/82 and 1/14/84. (Think there was an earlier date too, but can't think of it and I'm in a bit of a time crunch)[/quote] They were mentioned on the 2/10/1979 show (as you can see from my post; looks like you put yours together a lot faster than I did ;D).

They were mentioned on the 2/10/1979 show (as you can see from my post; looks like you put yours together a lot faster than I did ;D). I type up a week's chart listing (that goes on the Pulse board) in WordPad as the show goes on - lately I've been putting station info underneath that in the same window. Once it's done, it's a simple matter of cut-and-paste...and format properly for posting, of course. It can be a bit distracting from the show at times, but doing this research is fascinating. ;D I don't use a board window to put it in, keeping the board window open for long, because there's a number of posting hazards that can result from that, causing me to lose everything just like that. I've run into things like internet disconnections, board errors, page errors...it's just easier and safer to keep it in a non-Internet window. Incidentally...seeing as I'm back (and not expecting to go anywhere anytime soon), disregard my notice for missing the last hour. EDIT (to answer below): Yes, I did get that. And it appears there's not any this week, either.

BTW apparently there were no station welcomes in Hour #3 of 2/21/1987. Not sure if you got that or not?

2/23/80 is done for the week. - WKBO, Harrisburg, PA - currently a Contemporary Christian station. They stopped being a Top 40 station six months after this show aired according to the station's tribute site.
Great find! Wiki made it seem like their format flip and getting passed in the ratings were linked.

It's easier for me because I can't remember the stations long enough to type them out while I'm listening, plus it gives me the chance to play things back in case I misheard some of what Casey said.

The stations mentioned (so far) on the 3/2/1985 show: - KAOK, Lake Charles, LA - currently a News/Talk/Information station
- KMOR (FM 93), Scottsbluff, Nebraska - currently a classic rock station. The Wiki entry says that on 8/27/2007, they switched frequencies from 101.3 to 93.3, so there must have been a time when they switched to 101.3 before going back (?) to 93.3.
- KMAJ, Topeka KS - currently an AC station
- WWIT, Canton, NC - the current call letters are WYSE and the format is sports. Here's their call letter history starting with the mid-80s:
- Y-100, Miami/Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach - still a Top 40/CHR station to this day; AT40 can still be heard on there every weekend (briguy52748 posted that the station was mentioned by Shadoe on 5/6/1989).
- WNKO, NewarK, OH - currently a classic hits station
- KNOM (Radio 78), Nome, AK - a rarity: a Catholic radio station that aired AT40 (their format for over 40 years). They currently air AT40: The 70s.
- WIVY (103), Jacksonville, FL - this station is now WXXJ and has carried a modern rock format since 2/25/2009; here is their history on how they got there:
The call letters now belong to a soft AC station in Morehead, KY.
One new station mentioned in the second hour: - CFGP, Alberta, Canada - currently is an active rock station (one of the national shows they air is The Side Show Countdown with Nikki Sixx and Casey's daughter Kerri). They were on an AM frequency until 1996 when they moved to FM on 97.7.
I was going to listen to the entire show today, but it's starting to storm where I am so I'll leave it up to Mike to get the last hour.

^ The 1983 listening guide has KMOR at 92.9...so it's very interesting to find them at 93.3 today. My guess is 101.3 was their second stop, as opposed to the 92.9 frequency simply going dark and 101.3 flipping and picking up the letters as recently abandoned.

I was going to listen to the entire show today, but it's starting to storm where I am so I'll leave it up to Mike to get the last hour. Their website apparently hates me today, so that won't be until tomorrow. They also flaked on me during the third hour and second hour opening - I only caught the mentions for the first two hours, not including the new Alberta station.

Well, here's the last three:
WMGW Meadville, PA - An AC station at this time, they're now a News/Talk/Sports station. WRIA Richmond, IN - A Top 40 station at this time, though apparently by today's standards they'd have been Hot AC. That's actually foreshadowing, as the next year, they'd go soft rock, or AC, as WFMG. But by 1991, with crosstown WQLK going Classic Hits, they'd add "hotter" records to the playlist once again, and...you guessed it, they'd be Hot AC again. By 1994 the transition was complete, and they're still that way today. 98.5 WROR Boston - An AC station at the time, they'd go Hot as WBMX on February 8, 1991, and remain that way today, only they moved to 104.1 on July 14, 2009.

I was going to listen to the entire show today, but it's starting to storm where I am so I'll leave it up to Mike to get the last hour. Let me add a little more to the WIVY info. It was called "Y-103" and by the late 80s ad become more Hot AC leaning but aired most of the days current hits. Sometime in the early 90s as in 91/92 it became "Coast 102.9" and was more softer HAC leaving. It was like a cross between HAC and AC...it really didn't sound very good IMO. Then in late 97 it became Mix 103, and you know the story after that.

These are the stations mentioned on the 3/12/1988 show (minus the last two I missed in the first hour, so someone else can get those): - WAYN, Rockingham, NC - now with an AC/easy listening format
- WHDL, Olean, NY - now an oldies station (mostly satellite and automated)
- WSLQ (Q99 FM), Roanoke/Lynchburg, VA - currently an AC station (mentioned during the Shadoe years on 5/6/1989)
- WYHY (Y107, The Outrageous FM), Nashville, TN - they are now known as WRVW (107.5 The River) and are still a Top 40 station. though it changed several times as these paragraphs indicate:
- KMMR (FM 100), Malta, MT - currently a country station (also mentioned in the final hour)
- The All-New SuperQ, 76 AM and 96 FM, San Antonio, TX - since it appears they've gone through a lot of changes since this show aired, I'll just let the Wikipedia entry for the station (now known as KXXM) speak for itself.
- WPTN (Rock Hits 780), Cookville, TN - currently a daytime-only classic country station
- The Fox, Hit Radio 99, South Williamsport, PA - I'm guessing this is now WZXR (99.3 FM), a rock music station.
- KFRO (1370 AM Stereo), Longview, TX - after going through many changes after this show aired, they eventually became their current format of Christian talk; a lot more info at the station's Wikipedia page
- WXYU (Power 102), Lynchburg, VA - now under the call letters WSFF (since March 2009) with an Adult hits format; once again, more info at their Wikipedia page
One new station welcomed to the family: - KVSH, Valentine, NE - currently has a "full service" format (including news, talk and country music); I was unable to find out if they had that format back in 1988.

Casey reads this one twice, with slightly different descriptions. Has he ever done that before?

The Outrageous FM? You're not kidding. They would be the subject of a 48 Hours report on "shock radio". That said, this is also the heritage station that a previous affiliate (see 12/14/85) couldn't quite beat. The two stations missing are: KZ93 Peoria, IL - WKZW. They flipped to a "hard" AC format in early 1994, then to Oldies in late 1996. That's more-or-less been their format ever since, aside from a transition to classic hits in 2006. Oh yes...they're now WPBG. 101 KDWB Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN - Reported on 11/1/86 and 4/8/89, but the full story's given for '89. wahoo, atfanmpls...that's the third one for you guys!
